Super Bowl Sunday is a great American Tradition. It’s the one event that requires you to sit around watching TV, with a group of people you might not know, as you watch everyone get a little fatter. Regardless of the consequences, we all do it and we love it.
Men and women have different reasons for loving Super Bowl Sunday (other than the excuse to consume copious amounts of nachos and beer). Men love the football…The Game. They gear up for the Super Bowl by watching the football season in its entirety and they play in fantasy football leagues wherever they can find them. It gives them an excuse to fight over something they have no control over whatsoever. Women love Super Bowl Sunday because we like to dissect the commercials, the Half Time Show (this year it’s Springsteen and the E Street Band) and, admittedly, we love watching the “tight ends”. We look for cute football t-shirts to wear on game day and recipes to make for the parties.
I can’t predict if The Cardinals or the Steelers will win this year, but I do recommend that this Sunday you find a big screen TV, a party, and your honey and cozy up to during this good ol’ American Tradition. May both sexes live in denial of why the other is watching!
